Red tide could spread to Jacksonville as new test results confirm that red tide has been confirmed in parts of Cocoa Beach, Satellite Beach and Melbourne.

Red tide has slowly spread up Florida's coast as dead fish line the  affected beaches.

Experts say the algae blooms that cause red tide are kept alive by warm water temperatures and polluted waste and stormwater.

"If we keep feeding this red tide and it keeps traveling up the Gulf Stream, and the water continues to be warm, it could continue to go all the way up to Jacksonville," said Leesa Souto, the executive director for the Marine Resources Council.
