Jacksonville was named the 50th safest driving city in America in a recent study by Allstate.

Allstate released the study ahead of Labor Day travel weekend, which it says is one of the top holidays for car crashes.

According to its data, Jacksonville is No. 50 out of 200 safest driving cities in America included in the report.

The average Jacksonville driver will experience a traffic crash once every 9.3 years, according to Allstate claims data.

The company calls that an impressive feat considering the number of fatal collisions is on the rise.

With the improving economy and more driving, the United States is seeing more crashes and crash deaths, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Summer travel is often riskier than the daily commute.

The Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report uses company claims data to analyze collision frequency in America’s 200 largest cities.
