WEIRD FLORIDA: More strange news from around the Sunshine State

A St. Augustine woman spent the night in the St. Johns County Jail after she was observed cursing and yelling at a clerk at the Circle K on A1A, the St. Augustine Beach Police department said in a report.

Hayden Davis, 19, was arrested late Sunday after she refused to leave the gas station after raising both of her middle fingers at the clerk and calling her a "fat [expletive]," the St. Augustine Beach Police police report said.

Davis is charged with disturbing the peace.

Police said Davis was with her mother at the gas station when she attempted to give her a ride home. Davis refused and asked a police officer to drive her home instead, the police report said.

The officer agreed to drive Davis home, but instead of leaving the scene, Davis instead reentered the store and berated the clerk, the report said. Davis was arrested when she refused to go outside, police said.

Police records show Davis was released just before noon Monday.
