Pictures sent to Action News Jax show deplorable conditions at a Camden County animal shelter.
Dogs are seen lying in their own feces and vomit in the pictures.
“There’s explosive diarrhea all over the floor. There’s vomit on the floor and blood too,” a neighbor, Sara Barlow, said.
Barlow said she was sent the pictures from a former employee at the Humane Society of Camden County.
“To me it broke my heart. I feel so bad for those animals and I want to help all of them,” Barlow said.

She recently went to the shelter in hopes of adopting a dog and she said the conditions weren’t any better than they are in the pictures.
“It was still completely not clean and they were sitting in their poop and pee,” Barlow said.
Action News Jax went to the shelter to get their side of the story and the kennel supervisor said the pictures were taken months ago.
She also said that one of the pictures was taken inside a room where a dog was quarantined, and the rooms are required to be cleaned last.
After we got sent the pictures I went there myself and spoke with the kennel manager. She tells me the pictures were taken months ago & they clean daily @ActionNewsJax pic.twitter.com/rtfr78B3C8

“I believe it’s making them super sick and not helping them and getting hookworm parvo and other sickness,” Barlow said.
Since this is the only shelter in the county, Barlow said she’s now trying to raise money in hopes of opening another animal shelter in the area.
