A Jacksonville school resource officer is under investigation after an alleged altercation with a student that was captured on video.
That Lee High School senior, Sanji Sancho, tells Action News Jax exclusively that the officer picked her up by the throat and threw her to the ground Tuesday.
“I couldn't get a breath,” Sancho said. “That's how tight he was on my throat.”
Duval County Public Schools said the officer has been temporarily reassigned.
They say he’s on administrative duty while the district investigates.
Sancho said the altercation started with an exchange near the cafeteria as she was late and trying to find her class, and it escalated from there.

“He takes me, and he throws me against the wall and as I'm going up the wall his hand is like literally around my neck,” Sancho said.
Sancho said the officer shoved her multiple times before a witness started recording.
“I literally did nothing wrong to him. Hit, punch, nothing,” Sancho said.
Action News Jax posed multiple questions to a DCPS representative Tuesday.
DCPS said it is aware of the incident, but did not provide an official statement, saying it's an active investigation.
Sancho's mother, Latavia Harris, wants to see action taken.
“This time it's on tape,” Harris said. “There is nothing that he can say to represent why he did her that way. As a parent, am I upset? Upset is probably the least. I'm past that.”
Sancho says her shoulder hurts from the encounter and she has some cuts. She'll be seeing her doctor.
DCPS is not releasing the name of the officer, but Action News Jax will update the story as we learn more.
