Retired Jacksonville veteran claims $2 million jackpot from Florida Lottery drawing

Retired Navy veteran, Michael Baines, Sr. of Jacksonville, has claimed the $2 million LUCKY Money jackpot, the Florida Lottery announced Wednesday.

According to the Florida Lottery, Baines chose to receive a one-time lump sum of his winnings totaling $1,488,961.20.

Baines purchased his winning Quick Pick ticket from the Publix located on Argyle Forest Boulevard.

The drawing was held on Aug. 1 and the next Lucky Money drawing, which has a jackpot of $650,000, will be held Friday, Aug. 11.
