Palatka police offering reward after man found shot to death in apartment

A reward is being offered after a man was found dead Monday morning behind an apartment, according to the Palatka Police Department.

Police said they received a report at 5:15 a.m. of a "suspicious person" knocking on the back door of an apartment located at 5315 Pine Needle Circle.

When officers arrived, police said they found the man dead on the ground behind the apartment.

Authorities said the man, Darien Green, 23, of Palatka appeared to have had been shot once with a firearm.

"A reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the person responsible for this tragic event," Palatka police said in a social media post. The reward amount is unknown at this time.
