JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — Health inspections identified pest control issues as a top concern at three restaurants in this week's Restaurant Report.
A health inspector saw rodent droppings, live and dead roaches and live flies in the kitchen of Zeta, a popular restaurant and brewery in Jacksonville Beach. It was temporarily shut down, but allowed to reopen after two follow-up inspections.
A health inspector visited Hong Yip Chinese Restaurant in Lake City. The inspector saw six live roaches and live flies in the kitchen and saw an employee touch ready-to-eat food with bare hands. It was also temporarily shut down and allowed to reopen after two follow-up inspections.
At Famous Amos in Orange Park, a health inspector saw live flies, issued a stop sale on expired vegetable soup and noted temperature issues with gravy. A follow-up inspection is required.
