Semitruck goes over I-95 concrete barrier in three-car crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a three-vehicle crash that caused a semitruck to go over a concrete barrier and three people to be taken to the hospital.

The three people suffered minor injuries are recovering. The semitruck driver, who was hauling 25,000 pounds of non-hazardous material for Star Leasing Company, was not injured.

According to FHP, everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seat belt.

It happened around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday. Traffic was backed up for nearly three hours as crews worked to clear the road.

Florida Department of Transportation crews were at the scene photographing the damage to the concrete barrier and surveying the bridge to ensure the structure wasn’t damaged.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
