Anyone who drives I-295 from State Road 9B to J.Turner Butler Boulevard knows how much of a headache the area can be, especially during morning and afternoon rush hour. Local drivers, however, have the opportunity to weigh in on changes to I-295.
On Thursday, the Florida Department of Transportation wants to know what drivers think about increasing to three general use lanes. Another change officials are considering is extending sound barriers in the area.

Action News Jax reported when a third lane was added on each side of the road.
Once the project is complete, there will be two tolled express lanes from 9B to JTB.
