St. Augustine Beach police find LSD, cocaine after traffic stop

A 19-year-old woman was arrested after a traffic stop led St. Augustine Beach police to hundreds of grams of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

Officers stopped Alyssa Clarke, 19 of Palatka, for speeding on SR 312 at around 10:45 p.m. on Saturday.

There was drug paraphernalia in plain sight in the car, officers said.

When officers asked Clarke about the items, she said her boyfriend may have a little bit of weed in the car, the police report said.

Officers found 185 grams of marijuana, 1.2 grams of cocaine, LSD, hydrocodone pills, Codeine cough syrup, multiple clear plastic bags consistent with packaging and sales and five glass pipes and water bongs in the car, police said.

Clarke was arrested on 10 drug-related charges and booked into the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Jail.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are forthcoming, officers said.
