St. Augustine police: Attacker sucker punches man, steals his phone

The St. Augustine Police Department responded to Anderson Circle on Oct. 28 after receiving a call about a man bleeding on the ground.

Per police, Jason Bedgood had multiple lacerations on his face and both eyes were swollen shut when they arrived on scene.

Bedgood was transported to the hospital and later updated on his Facebook page that he was sore, but doing better.

A witness told police he observed a white male about 6 feet tall, heavily built and muscular with white hair punch Bedgood, knocking him down.

According to police, the suspect fled and was wearing a pink and orange shirt.

Bedgood said in his Facebook post that the person sucker punched and beat him,  and grabbed his phone and fled.
