The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office and St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded Tuesday night to a brush fire in the new Markland subdivision off International Golf Parkway near Interstate 95.
SJSO said in a Facebook post that a prescribed burn got out of control in the back of a wooded area.
The fire was about a half-acre in size and the Florida Forest Service also responded.
The fire was brought under control around 10:30 and no houses or people were harmed as a result of the fire.
FIRE UPDATE: St. Johns County Fire Rescue has the fire under control. No injuries were reported or structures damaged.
