According to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, deputies have arrested a suspect in a chase and crash that started in Duval County and ended in St. Johns County.
He is accused of stealing a car from Jacksonville and getting into a crash on Fruit Cove Road South near the bridge -- and fled the area on foot.
Wednesday afternoon the SJSO said investigators are following up on information about the identity of a suspect who ran from deputies after stealing a vehicle from Duval County and crashing it in St.Johns.
SJSO Deputies are searching for a white male suspect who fled from a stolen car, along Fruit Cove Road South a short time ago. The suspect is described as a white male, possibly in his 30’s, with dark hair and was wearing a blue shirt. If you see anything suspicious call 911. pic.twitter.com/UW8flksMpw

Neighbor John Rust told Action News Jax, “I looked out and eventually there were about 8 St.Johns police out there.”
He said deputies were focused on a mangled vehicle in his neighbors front yard.
Investigators said the car was stolen from Duval County by a man with dark hair, believed to be in his 30s, who took off after crashing the car.
“The helicopter was circling this place for a long time,” Rust explained.
According to deputies they found what appears to be the suspect’s blue shirt north of the crash.
Neighbors who didn’t want to be identified were surprised to see the crime creep into St.Johns County.
“We moved here because we thought it was a quiet neighborhood,” Rust said.
