St. Johns County deputies looking for Circle K armed robber

The St. John County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man they say robbed a Circle K gas station along 465 State Road 16.

Shelby Young has lived in the county for 25 years, told us she makes frequent trips to that Circle K almost every day.

But Sunday morning, the Sheriff’s Office told us a suspect walked into the gas station and stood around for 30 minutes before pulling out a gun.

The Sheriff’s Office told us that the man took a small amount of cash from the register and fled in a dark-colored SUV.

Deputies told us the Circle K has been robbed in the past and people like Young say it’s a scary situation.

“I hope they’re OK. That’s awful. I hope they’re not too shook up. I can’t believe that,” Young said.

Despite what happened, Young told us she would still come back to the gas station, just not during “weird hours.”

The Sheriff’s Office only has a vague description of the robber.
