St. Johns County deputy thrown from motorcycle in crash on 210

UPDATE: St. Johns County deputy may lose use of leg after motorcycle crash

A St. Johns County deputy was seriously hurt after he crashed his motorcycle on County Road 210 just west of I-95.

Deputy Tony Deleo, 49, has been with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office for three years. Deleo has serious -- but not life-threatening -- injuries.

The accident happened around 2:15 p.m. on a curve on 210 parallel to Cimarrone Golf Club.

Troopers said Deleo was driving westbound when he traveled off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

Deleo was thrown off the motorcycle and hit a concrete power line pole.

Troopers are investigating.
