St. Johns deputies analyzing contents of notes left at 2 different crime scenes in Reddock murder

Deputies in St. Johns County say Joseph Reddock Jr. and his wife, Samantha, left notes in two different places after killing Reddock Jr.'s father, Joseph Reddock Sr.

One note was left at the elder Reddock's home in Ponte Vedra and the other at the motel in Daytona Beach where the younger Reddock and Samantha were found dead, after deputies say they both committed suicide.

St. Johns County Sheriff's Office Cmdr. Chuck Mulligan said the notes were a little different --  the one left at the home was a confession and the one in the motel was a suicide note.

“This confessional note that we have possession of -- we are looking and vetting anything to this investigation where someone else may be involved in this,” said Mulligan.

He said it’s their duty to make sure no one else helped commit this crime.

We also asked about reports that, in one of the notes, the younger Reddock implicates his father in a crime against Samantha Reddock.

Mulligan said they’re looking into that too.

“We don’t know yet if that’s true or not, so were vetting that as well as part of this investigation,” Mulligan said.

As the investigation continues, deputies confirmed they were searching ponds near the elder Reddock’s home.

“I will tell you the K-9’s were interested in certain areas on the exterior of the home,” said Mulligan.

Divers went into multiple ponds to search for evidence but Mulligan couldn't comment on whether anything was found during that search.
