St. Johns inmate dies days after attempting suicide

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. —

A St. Johns County inmate died Wednesday, six days after a suicide attempt.

Last Friday -- police say 24-year-old Andrew Dandurand was found in his cell with a makeshift noose around his neck.

He was rushed to the hospital, but couldn't be saved.     

Dandurand was in jail awaiting trial on charges of aggravated stalking of his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend.     

He was arrested with a stolen assault rifle after trying to run from deputies in Flagler County.
