Suspect in fatal shooting at Town Center pleads not guilty

Toray Ricketts, the man accused of shooting and killing a man outside a nightclub near the St. Johns Town Center, pled not guilty to the murder on Wednesday.

Sina Sharifai, 24, was shot and killed early March 24 outside Suite nightclub at the Markets at Town Center. Sharifai was reportedly trying to break up a fight when he was shot and killed.

Ricketts is charged with second-degree murder and possession of a firearm.

The argument started in the club and continued into the parking lot around 2 a.m. Two off-duty JSO officers were in the area and heard the gunfire.

Ricketts was arrested by JSO at the scene.
