The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office released surveillance images of the suspected truck deputies believe was used in a string of catalytic converters thefts.

Deputies said catalytic converters were stolen from at least a dozen cars this past weekend.

The incidents happened in the same time frame at Whispering Woods and Whispering Pines Apartment, Casa del Mar and the St. Augustine Outlets.

Surveillance video at the outlets captured the thief in the act, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say the footage showed the man exit the truck and remove the catalytic convert from the victim’s car.

He then got back into the truck and drove toward Bozard Ford.

The truck is described as a metallic gray 2018 Ford F150 XLT. The Sheriff’s Office said the driver appears to be a black man wearing an orange construction vest.
