UNION COUNTY, Fla. — The Union County Sheriff's Office and the High Springs Police Department are investigating suspicious incidents involving a man in a dark-colored van asking juveniles if they need a ride home.
One of the incidents happened Wednesday at N.W. 158th Avenue. and SR-238 area and occurred in High Springs, the Union County Sheriff's Office said. Another similar incident happened in High Springs on Monday on NW 257 Terrace.
Juveniles are reporting a man approximately 35-50 years old inside a dark-colored van driving up next to them while walking and asking if they need a ride home. The juveniles and the van immediately left the area.
Authorities are looking for an older model van, possibly dark blue with orange flames on the side of it driven by a woman with a passenger, who is a man between 35-50 years of age. Authorities say the man has a scruffy beard and gray hair that is short and balding.
The Union County Sheriff's Office and High Springs Police Department are working with the schools and our community to ensure the safety of children.
Anyone who has information about the incidents, license plate information and any other identifying marks on the vehicle and/or suspect(s) is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 386-496-2501.
