The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the store was closed at the time.

As a precaution, Target and the adjacent Publix on San Jose Boulevard near I-295 were evacuated.

JSO's hazardous materials unit is on the scene assessing the situation.

Employees of both stores were evacuated to businesses across the street, near Whole Foods.

Both stores will remain closed at this time.
