The Jaguars' success brings promise of revitalized downtown

Interest in Jaguars tickets and merchandise is through the roof as the team prepares to play in the AFC Championship game.

The team on Monday said there’s a significant uptick in interest for season tickets next year…

City leaders will hope to parlay the Jags’ success into a revitalized downtown.

At Bold City Brewery downtown, core beers are half off for Victory Monday.

There’s been a lot of celebrating this year, and Manager Will Frazier says it’s bringing a lot of foot traffic.

“Now that the Jags have actually been doing well, especially on the weekends and Sundays, it’s unbelievable how different it is,” said Frazier.

Frazier told us months ago, after Hurricane Irma, Bold City Brewery had to put out a sign telling customers it was open for business.

He says the same problem doesn’t exist now.

The team’s success has put Jacksonville on the map, and Frazier believes more businesses will want to move downtown, when it otherwise might have been a hard sell.

“I have friends that live all over the country that are calling me now because the Jaguars are doing well,” said Frazier.
