Topgolf donates used equipment for U.S. military serving in the Middle East

Topgolf, the Florida-based company that recently opened a facility in Jacksonville, announced a partnership with Bunkers in Baghdad, an organization that supplies equipment to servicemembers.

Soldiers serving overseas have long played golf in and near bases with whatever they can find, and Topgolf said they will donate used clubs, balls and artificial turf for that purpose.

The company is working with with Bunkers in Baghdad, who has helped donate golf equipment to servicemembers since 2008.

"The idea behind Bunkers in Baghdad is simple: we collect and ship golf equipment to our troops and vets around the world. Bunkers is busier than ever, and our partnership with Topgolf was really a blessing last year,” said Joe Hanna, founder of Bunkers in Baghdad. “Our troops truly appreciate anything we send them – especially a little slice of home. The majority of feedback we hear from our soldiers is, ‘Thank you for not forgetting about us.’”
