A new medical marijuana dispensary is set to open in Jacksonville in about 60 days.
Trulieve confirmed to Action News Jax that its dispensary will be located at 6259 Beach Boulevard, which is near University Boulevard.
In July, Trulieve opened Florida's first legal medical marijuana dispensary in Tallahassee. For that dispensary, Trulieve received state approval to begin selling a type of medical marijuana that purportedly does not get users high, but is believed to alleviate conditions such as severe seizures.
In November, voters approved the legalization of medical marijuana.
In January, Action News Jax reported that Knox Medical said it received a license for the first medical marijuana dispensary in Jacksonville. Knox Medical was granted a license for a dispensary at 9901 San Jose Blvd. That dispensary is expected to open during the second quarter of 2017.
