Two charged with selling alcohol to minors in St. Augustine

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — Two employees at two separate restaurants were charged by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office with selling alcohol to minors.

SJSO along with the St. Augustine Beach Police Department, in conjunction with the PACT Prevention Coalition, conducted a compliance operation that targeted the St. Augustine Beach area on July 2.  A 17-year-old aide attempted to purchase alcohol at 24 businesses and was served at two, SJSO said.

SJSO says, the establishments where employees were charged were the Casa Maria Restaurant an unidentified 22-year-old man sold to the aide and Holiday Isle Hotel Restaurant an unidentified 54-year-old woman sold to the aide.

Police say the clerks at the following businesses refused to sell alcohol:

  • Oasis Deck & Restaurant
  • Express
  • Publix Liquors and Publix  
  • Kangaroo Express
  • Salt Life
  • Mermaid Café
  • Tokyo Thai Sushi & Grill
  • Ripe Bistro
  • Verrazano Pizzeria
  • 7 Eleven
  • Anastasia Billiards
  • Saigon Pho Bistro
  • FA Café
  • Coquina Beach Surf Club Bar & Grill
  • Café Eleven
  • Playa Chac-Mool Mexican Restaurant
  • Mango Mangos Grill & Bar
  • A1A Burrito Works Taco Shop 
  • Hess Food Mart
  • Racetrac
