Two men face multiple charges in vehicle theft case

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office arrested two men for grand theft of a vehicle that happened early in July.

SJSO said the investigation began on July 8 when residents reported their 2007 Ford stolen and damage to another vehicle in from their home in the 100 block of Kings Manor Court, near County Highway 5A.

Officers said witnesses identified two men that were seen driving the Ford, and other witnesses told officers of Facebook photos taken with the men in the vehicle.

A firearm was also reported stolen, but has not been located, according to SJSO.

Officers arrested 22-year-old Austin Eckmark and 21-year-old Clyde Edwards, both of St. Augustine.

Eckmark is charged with a motor vehicle theft and three counts of burglary. Edwards is charged with three counts of burglary, a count of criminal mischief, grand theft of a firearm and grant theft of a motor vehicle.

Additional charges are pending for both men. SJSO also said a 16-year-old has been identified as a suspect and charges are pending.
