Two motorcyclists killed in crash with van in Atlantic Beach

Two motorcyclists were killed in a crash involving a van in Atlantic Beach.

The accident happened Thursday on Mayport Road when a white Chevy van struck the right side of a motorcycle after turning left onto West 10th St.

The driver, identified as Eugene Long, failed to yield the right way of the motorcyclists, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The motorcyclists, identified as Kasey Whilden from Eustis and Jennifer Reed from Jacksonville, died at the scene.

Long and his passenger were taken to UF Health.
