U.S. marshal shoots suspect after pursuit in Jacksonville

Officials are investigating after a federal agent shot a suspect in Jacksonville on Wednesday.

Sky Action News Jax captured video of police swarming an SUV on Beach Boulevard and Meadowbrook on Wednesday afternoon.

Someone was taken into custody with a gunshot wound.

A second person was taken into custody nearby.

The U.S. Marshals Service confirms that an agent shot a suspect.

Witnesses tell Action News Jax that the car was involved in a high-speed chase.

The SUV had two flat tires but was still leading the pursuit, witnesses said.

All westbound lanes of Beach Boulevard at Hodges were closed as part of the investigation.

We are working to learn more information about the suspect's condition and the pursuit.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating.

Statement:

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) at the request of the United States Marshals Service, and working with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, is investigating an officer involved shooting that took place earlier today in Jacksonville. Please be advised that this investigation is currently active and FDLE cannot provide any further details at this time."
