Vandals urinate in Orange Park school classroom over holiday break

ORANGE PARK, Fla. — You’ll likely see more patrols around S. Bryan Jennings Elementary School after investigators said the school was burglarized and vandalized twice over the holiday weekend.

“Right now, some of them are forced entry and a lot of them, we don't have any idea how they get in,” said Jeff Clark, a detective with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

The Clay County School District said it’s not only increasing patrols but also figuring out ways to improve security at the school.

While no school property was destroyed, the district said it did have to pay for several hours of custodial time to clean up the mess.

According to the police report, cookies and drink boxes were either missing or consumed.

Deputies also found “urine in a box” that’s normally kept on students’ tables.

“Little unusual but that was one of the cases that someone did urinate themselves in the classroom,” Clark said.

In 2014, Action News Jax reported how S. Bryan Jennings Elementary reported several items were stolen and Clay High School was also burglarized the same day.

It’s unclear if any of the incidents are connected, but deputies need your help.

Investigators are looking at surveillance video but wouldn’t release the footage because it’s an ongoing investigation.

Clark said if caught, the suspect will have to pay for damage to the school.
