Video: Officials rescue dog from storm drain in Gainesville

A group of Gainesville officials saved a dog from a storm drain on Sunday.

Gainesville Police Department said the dog is OK after someone climbed into the drain to rescue it.

The agency posted a video of the rescue on their Facebook page.

They said the dog was rescued thanks to teamwork by Alachua County Animal Services, FDOT, VA Honor Center Veterans and bystanders.

"Thanks to those who noticed this poor pup go into the storm drain and got involved! The pup is safe and sound now," the agency wrote.
