New court documents detail allegations of voter fraud in last year’s Putnam County sheriff’s race.
Democrat Gator DeLoach defeated Republican Jon Kinney by a margin of 16 votes after a controversial recount.
Kinney filed a lawsuit contesting the election. The trial begins next Wednesday.

The new court filings allege that at least 42 people voted illegally in the election including felons, non-Putnam County residents and even three who used the names of people who were dead.
“There’s no question in my mind reading the complaint that there was voter fraud, based on what’s alleged here,” Action News Jax law and safety expert Dale Carson said. “The question is, who did it impact?”

Kinney’s attorney will argue the illegal ballots swayed the election in favor of DeLoach.
In the court documents, DeLoach’s attorney said Kinney’s legal team will not be able to prove that illegal votes swung the election.
