Walgreens robber's wife turns him in to police

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Clay County Sheriff’s Office arrested the man who robbed a drug store.

James Edwin Irwin walked into the Walgreens at 1821 Blanding Blvd. Irwin proceeded to the pharmacy and pulled out a black handgun. 

He ordered the pharmacist to give him Lortab. The pharmacist complied and gave Irwin a bottle of Loritab with 500 pills. 

Irwin took the pills, walked out of the Walgreens, got into a silver van and left.

A surveillance camera captured video.

Irwin’s wife saw the video footage on the evening news, recognized her husband and contacted the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.  

Police then searched the house and found the clothes worn during the robbery and the stolen Loritab. Police found a BB gun in Irwin’s vehicle.

Irwin was positively identified in two separate photo lineups and arrested.
