Wawa in Jacksonville: First Wawa stores open in Jacksonville area

Wawa is taking the Jacksonville area by storm.

The gas station chain celebrated two grand openings Dec. 13 in Clay and Duval counties.

The stores are now open at 6787 Wilson Blvd. in Jacksonville and 678 Blanding Blvd. in Orange Park.

Wawa plans to open a third store near St. Johns Town Center next week, the Jacksonville Daily Record reports.

Several other stores are planned for the Jacksonville area.

Wawa opened its first Florida location in 2012 and has more than 125 stores in the state.

According to a Wawa spokesperson, the chain plans to open 25 to 30 Florida stores per year for the next several years.

Wawa is known for its fresh, built-to-order foods, beverages, coffee, fuel services and surcharge-free ATMs.
