The Florida Highway Patrol is currently monitoring a wildfire on Jacksonville's Southside.
The wildfire is in the area of Butler Boulevard and Hodges Boulevard and can affect roadways, according to FHP.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling in the area.
FHP said visibility may deteriorate quickly due to smoke and fog type conditions, especially during the nighttime and early morning hours.
The wildfire began July 14 according to the Florida Forest Service.
Officials believe lighting may be the cause.
This is at JTB and Hodges. It’s visible for miles so if you see smoke in that direction, it’s likely this wildfire @ActionNewsJax https://t.co/IX8ok3QOH7
