Woman says property manager won't address feces surrounding her Jacksonville home

A local family’s mobile home is surrounded by feces.

The family contacted Action News Jax and claimed that the management company is refusing to solve the problem.

"It's disgusting. It’s unsanitary. It's just the stench. You don't want to walk out your front door and smell crap, human feces," the woman said.

The woman, who doesn’t want to be identified, said sewage has been backing up from pipes and there are now piles of feces around her yard.

“It’s raunchy. It's very strong at days, especially when it's very hot and it just sizzles. It, it's disgusting," the woman said.

She said she is worried about letting her two young children play outside.

"I don't want them randomly to just run into it and be like 'OMG what did I just fall into?' thinking it's mud and it's not mud at all," the woman said.

She said she called Affordable Housing Communities, the company that manages New Kings Mobile Home Park, and was told there aren’t plans to fix the problem.

"They are delaying all the repairs and anything else until they sell the park," the woman said.

Action News Jax called the number for the manager, but the number was disconnected.

Then we called the number found on the sign out in front of the mobile home park and was told the management office was on Flagler Avenue.

But when we got there, the management said the company didn’t have an office space there.

And when we again called the call center for Affordable Housing Communities, we were told they would take a message and pass it along.

This isn’t the first time Action News Jax has investigated the issue.

More than a year ago, we spoke to a family about the same sewage problem.

"I just want it fixed. I mean, it's been ongoing for months and they're not doing anything about it. I don't want my children to be exposed to this," the woman said.
