Woman says man attacked her with pillow inside a St. Augustine Walmart

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — A 20-year-old woman says she was attacked by a man with pillow inside a St. Johns County Walmart.

The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, says a man ran up behind her and started hitting her with a pillow. She says she suffered multiple scratches to her back.

She said the attack happened so fast.

"I just hear somebody running, and before I could even turn around he smacked me really hard with this pillow," she said.

She says the man then started to laugh.

"I was like OK, that's not really cool, and then he laughed again," She said.

With the help of Walmart employees, She says the police were called.

According to a police report, the 18-year-old suspect said it was a joke, and that he uses it as an unorthodox method to meet people.

Similar pranks on college campuses where a prankster tosses a pillow to other people and begins pillow fighting can be found on the internet.

But the victim says she wasn't given the opportunity to fight back.

"It really scared me. I was alone at Walmart at night and then this man just comes up and hits me and stares at me, you know," She said.

She says regardless of whether it was a joke—the incident shook her up.

"It kind of makes you feel like what's going to happen next."
