JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The handcuffed woman who was seen in a video being allegedly beaten by a Jacksonville sheriff's officer appeared Tuesday in Duval County Court.
Mayra Martinez, 31, was arrested in April.
An arraignment was held for Martinez. She pleaded not guilty to the charges of resisting an officer, trespassing and battery.
The officer in the video has since been fired, but not formally charged.
“I just want to move on and move forward from the situation,” Martinez said. “Basically, that's it, as anybody would.”
