Woman shot while sleeping in home

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman was shot in her northwest Jacksonville home while she was sleeping Sunday morning.
 
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office tells Action News she was shot in her back through the window.
 
According to relatives, both her and her boyfriend were sleeping in bed when the shots were fired.
 
The JSO says 30 rounds were emptied into the home with a long barrel gun.

A family member tells Action News the woman was hit with 5 bullets and is in surgery.
 
According to police, the woman is in critical condition at UF Health.
 
Officers say the couple's dog was shot twice in the front yard but was not killed.
 
Police have made no arrests, but witnesses have been taken in for questioning.
