Write-in candidates drop out of St. Johns races

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — Two write-in candidates in St. Johns County have dropped out, leaving one race settled and the other now a two-way race.

Jeb Smith is now the elected commissioner for St. Johns County District 2 after the supervisor of elections office received a letter of withdrawal from write-in candidate John Sailer.

That race won’t show up on the November ballot.

Write-in candidate Frances Schoenberger also dropped out from the District 4 county commission race, leaving incumbent Jay Morris and Merrill Roland vying for the seat.
