Yulee car thieves drove stolen cars from Jacksonville to steal more cars

Nassau County deputies hope that someone will recognize a car thief caught on surveillance video at Ron Anderson Chevrolet Buick GMC in Yulee.

They say he was wearing a mask -- but pulled it down to use his cell phone.

Deputies say five suspects in all smashed through a door in the service area, found the keys to the cars and drove them off the lot.

“Four vehicles left the lot we found one down the road at the church in Yulee," said Sheriff Bill Leeper. "We found three in Jacksonville, one on the Westside, one in Arlington and one downtown."

Leeper says he’s not yet sure what the motive was, but knows this was not their first time stealing cars.

“Actually, they drove a vehicle stolen from the Westside of Jacksonville to the dealership to steal four other vehicles,” Leeper said.

We spoke to the general manager who says some of the other men wore masks, so you couldn’t make out who they were.

Deputies hope finding this thief will lead them to the others. They also say they also tried to hit another nearby dealership, but were unsuccessful.
