Yulee Primary School parents seek answers as teacher's aide is being investigated

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — UPDATE: The paraprofessional from Yulee Primary accused of making threatening phone calls was fired. Danielle Avitable will have reaction from parents on FOX10 Action News Jax at 10 and CBS47 Action News Jax at 11.

Yulee Primary School parents are looking for answers after learning that a teacher’s aide is being investigated for the second time this year.

The Nassau County School Board is looking into threatening phone calls that Stephanie Tyler is accused of making to a former coworker.

James Carter told Action News Jax that he needs to know if the latest accusations against Tyler, a Yulee Primary School Paraprofessional, are true for the sake of his 5-year-old granddaughter who has autism.

“Something's wrong and it needs to be cleared up," Carter said.

Former paraprofessional Aubrey Wright said she was on the receiving end of Tyler's calls and that the problems started when she reported Tyler to the school board for abusing children in class. A petition with almost 600 signatures is asking for her termination.

Action News Jax reported in November that no evidence of abuse was found in a Department of Children and Families investigation, but some people aren't convinced.

"If there wasn’t anything going on, then why would she threaten her?" Carter asked.

Action News Jax was asked to leave when crews went to Tyler’s home looking for her side of the story.
