JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A man was shot Monday night during a reported attempted carjacking on Jacksonville's Westside.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded around 9:50 p.m. to the 2000 block of Jammes Road, a block south of San Juan Avenue.
JSO says a person asked for a ride from the victim, but he refused. The suspect then reportedly demanded the victim to get out of the vehicle.
The victim drove away from the area, and the suspect shot at him, said JSO. The gunshot hit the victim in the neck.
The victim is being treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, and is expected to be OK, according to JSO.
The suspect ran from the area.

About two miles from this incident, JSO responded to a reported attempted robbery at a CVS on Normandy Boulevard around 12:48 a.m. JSO has a man in custody.
