COBB COUNTY, Ga. (WSB) -- Police are investigating an arson at an Acworth home. Court documents obtained by Channel 2 Action News indicate the home is owned by a trust in the name of former Braves player Otis Nixon.

The fire happened shortly before 3 a.m. at the two-story home on 400 Bass Way. It took fire crews about two and a half hours to fight the blaze.

Channel 2's Rachel Stockman spoke to Nixon on his cellphone Sunday morning. He believes the neighbor set the fire, although he does not know why.

According to Acworth Police Chief Wayne Dennard, Nixon's son and others had lived at the home. But at the time of the fire a person in his 20s, identified as Jane Mike Mosley, was living there. A neighbor notified Mosley that the house was on fire. Mosley came home to find the home in flames.

Police responded and arrested 34-year-old neighbor Lamine Diaw. Police said a dispute between Mosley and Diaw led to Diaw setting the fire. Police said Diaw admitted to the crime.

Diaw is being held without bond at the Cobb County jail. He is facing arson charges.

There were no reports of injuries.
