CHICAGO (AP) -- Hundreds of thousands of Chicago parents are scrambling for a place to send their children, with public school teachers on strike in a bitter contract dispute.

The union for teachers and the school district resumed negotiations Monday, but still couldn't reach a settlement.

Teachers will be on the picket line for a second day Tuesday.

I wonder if any of those parents has thought of sending the teachers union a bill for there kids that needed to be watched because the teachers decided to use this strike to line there pockets. If I was the mayor of Chicago I would fire the union teachers that didn't go back to work.

Already among the highest paid teachers in the country and being offered a 16% increase over the next 4 years, and they are on Strike!? I am sure our Florida Teachers would love that deal. It is idiots like this that give good teachers a bad name.
