PHOENIX (AP) - Former Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords has one word about gun violence in America: "Enough."

She and her husband - retired astronaut Mark Kelly - spoke to ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer for an interview that will be aired at 6:30 p.m. EST Tuesday. It's the second anniversary of the Tucson shooting rampage that killed six and wounded Giffords and 12 others.

The two also wrote in an op-ed published Tuesday in USA Today that they are launching an initiative aimed at curbing gun violence in the wake of the mass killing at a Connecticut school.

Segments of their interview were shown on "Good Morning America.

Giffords and Kelly met Friday with the families of victims in last month's shooting in Connecticut.

Kelly says the meeting brought back a lot of memories. He says: "You hope that this kind of thing doesn't happen again. And you know what? It does happen again."

Curbing Gun Violence

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Obama administration is calling gun owners' groups, victims' organizations and video-game industry representatives to the White House to discuss potential policy proposals for curbing gun violence.

President Barack Obama has ordered an administration-wide task force to send him proposals by the end of January. The group, led by Vice President Joe Biden, was formed in response to the horrific massacre at a Connecticut elementary school.

A White House official says Biden will meet Wednesday with gun violence victims' groups and gun safety organizations. On Thursday, he meets with gun ownership groups and sportsmen advocates.

The official says Biden also will meet with entertainment and video-game industry representatives. The official was not authorized to discuss the meetings before they were publicly announced and spoke on condition of anonymity.

The Challenge

The President faces a challenge from National Rifle Association and its supporters.

A group of gun rights advocates in Washington is planning a gun appreciation day just two days before the President's second inaugeration.

Her husband is a Navy officer. I am sure he recieved training on what his oath to the Constitution means. The 2nd amendment is not about militia's like many Democrats misinform people about. It is about keeping the government honest and fearful of it's people. Read the biograpies of our founding fathers if you disagree you will be shocked about it. Nazi Germany shortly before world war 2 began confiscating all guns.In America the plan is to go slow. Few baby steps each time. Since an all or nothing strat would fail. Take few laws against guns now each time some criminal does something then add few more. You don't see anyone suggesing Obama disam his secret service or Bloomberg removing the best hired guns in the buisiness and giving them just tasers and mace to do their jobs. Also you don't see airplanes no flying because terrorist turned them into the most destructive weapons American citizens have ever been attacked with. Matter fact recently quietly behind the scenes airlines started let Congress and certain other "individuals" to skip the virtual strips searches the peasanst must submit to to fly or else.

What gets me is if Gifford had had a gun on her she may have been able to stop the nut before he got to her...instead of standing there like a sitting duck.

"Control" is not about guns. They know that will not stop the criminals. They want to control the population that actually is intelligent enough to finally realize how badly our system has been suborned by the few "elite".
