YONKERS, N.Y. (AP) - People representing the engineer of the New York City commuter train that derailed Sunday killing four people say he experienced a hypnosis-like "daze" and nodded at the controls just before the wreck, and by the time he caught himself it was too late.

The attorney who accompanied engineer William Rockefeller to his interview with federal investigators says the daze was almost like road fatigue.

The train was traveling nearly three times over the speed limit.
