POLAND SPRING, Maine (AP) — Sen. Marco Rubio's slaking of his thirst from a miniature bottle of Poland Spring has been replayed over and over on social media. The Maine-based bottle water brand was glad to be there for him.

The Florida Republican was giving the GOP response to Barack Obama's State of the Union address Tuesday night when he paused, grabbed an 8-ounce Poland Spring and took a swig. Twitter users quickly commented on the awkward moment and created a hashtag, (hash)watergate.

Later, Marco jokingly posted a photo of the water bottle from his Twitter account. On ABC's "Good Morning America," he explained that he was simply thirsty.

Jane Lazgin from Nestle Waters, Poland Spring's corporate parent, said, "We're really glad that Poland Spring was close at hand with Sen. Rubio needed some refreshment."
