WINTER GARDEN, Fla. -- Children might not know where parents are hiding Christmas presents, but burglars have a good idea.

Two men were arrested for burglaries in Winter Garden Saturday and police say the men knew exactly where to look.

People often store presents in the trunks of cars. Police said the two men they arrested were aware of that.

Holly McCall said the noise of someone opening her car trunk woke her up Monday morning.

"At about 6:15 I heard my garage door go up and back down," said McCall. "We locked the door to the garage and called the police."

Police said Matthew Alvarez, 18, and West Orange High School student Joseph Figueroa Molina were targeting cars in two neighborhoods near the Winter Garden Village shopping center.

Police said the two opened McCall's garage with the remote control inside her car.

"Normally we're trying to hide them from our kids so we hide them in the back of the car or in the trunk. Luckily I didn't have any in the car that they wanted," said McCall.

McCall isn't the only one who became a victim.

Police said at least five cars were hit before Alvarez and Molina were caught.

Max Travers was one of the victims.

"I heard them running down between the houses, that's what woke me up because I had my window open," said Travers.

Travers said his wife's car was broken into as well.

He said that he keeps presents hidden in the trunk, but may keep them someplace else after this scare.

"I do keep stuff in my trunk, but after I'm done talking to you I'm going to take it out and put it somewhere else," said Travers.

Police said the two men are facing felony charges of burglary, resisting arrest, prowling and several more theft charges.

Police warn people not to hide presents in car trunks this time of year.
