ATLANTA (WSB-TV) -- The same winter storm that covered metro Atlanta with snow and ice also moved up the coast into the Carolinas.

Thousands of students were sent home from school, but one school had a unique way of delivering the message.

A creative video school closing from Durham Academy already has 2.5 million views on YouTube.

The video message shows Principal Michael Ulku-Steiner and Assistant Principal Lee Hark riffing on Vanilla Ice's classic "Ice, Ice, Baby" as they announce school cancellations, subbing in lyrics like "ice is back and the roads will glisten" and "sleet fallin' down like a million missiles," according to WTVD in Raleigh.

The video has been on a variety of national news programs and websites including ABC's Good Morning America.

Channel 2 Action News received a variety of creative photos and videos from our viewers during the storm.
